Please give me the address of a simple internet resource that works
exactly like the telephone book's white and yellow pages and provides
answers without the intrusion of other material.mister2u-ga - Thanks for your reply. I tested the "www.411.com" site
and it was bad news. In order to ensure that they were reasonably
reliable I searched for a few - doctors etc - that I KNEW were in the
book and found, even after clearing the clutter of advertisers, that I
could not readily identify my target. I then made it really simple
with a name I had on a bill right before me "Park Avenue Liquor Shop"
- and entered "Park Ave Wine" New York, NY - nobody home. I then
tried Park Ave Liquor - still lots of others (advertisers?) with names
that had no resemblance - but not my target. Next I spelled out
"avenue" instead of using the common "ave" - still nobody home. Last
chance - I put in the zip code and it did come up, but as Park AV etc.
How can such a resource be anything but a timewaster? Try it
yourself, just making the entry as though you did not really know the
answer and see what happens. This site is no substitute for an
ordinary phone book. Is it a lost cause or can we try again? Thanks
