I need a report(s) or data assembled within the past couple of years
that the examines the percentage of the flu vaccine purchased by the
government (versus the private sector) over the years, and the price
paid for that vaccine. This information must provide evidence that
either supports or refutes the notion that govt. involvement in bulk
purchasing drives down the price of flu vaccine to the point that flu
vaccine manufacture is discouraged. I need this answered by 10 am
PDT on Tuesday, 10/19.This site suggests that companies don't produce the vaccine because it
is financially risky. Public interest in the flu varries greatly year
to year and if a company can't sell their product they lose alot of
money. The suggestion by this site if to have the government commit
to buying a certain ammount of the flu shot from many different
companies to give them security.
