Paranoid Rule Building (Priority)

  • In AtGuard, the rules that are at the bottom of the GUI list are the defaults.
    I normally create 3 default rules that;
    BLOCK all TCP
    BLOCK all UDP
    BLOCK all ICMP
    This starts in the 'nothing goes and comes' state, and allows me to write rules only for the things I want to get through.

    Where would I put these 3 rules in the 'preset.lst' to accomplish the same thing?
    Michael

  • That's good except, you can't run it in Block Most and Rules Wizard modes at the same time can you?
    Michael

  • These rules are unnecessary since Outpost's Policy setting determines what happens with undefined traffic - running Outpost in Block Most policy will have the effect of the AtGuard rules listed above while Rules Wizard will result in a prompt for any undefined traffic.

    For more information on how Outpost processes traffic, please check the 1 FAQ.
