Where are the HOW-TOs?
06 Jan
I purchased Norton PF 2005 (which was based on AtGuard), but it is just too difficult to set up for me (not to mention all the pirating protection, makes it difficult if I have to re-build my desktop).
The best feedback I have received was to use Outpost.
I downloaded the freebie version, and it is VERY DIFFERENT than AtGuard.
I now have my workstation locked until I cannot even get to my network shared drives after fooling around with Outpost rule stuff. I have to shut Outpost off to proceed.
Is there a 'Outpost For Dummies' page somewhere?

As a former AtGuard user myself (I jumped over to Outpost a few years ago), I'd say that Outpost is the firewall that came closest to offering the control and flexibility in my view - however versions 2-2.5 have added a great deal (Component Control, etc) so starting with the free version of Outpost may offer an easier start. However, malware has become a lot more sophisticated so the extra facilities of the Pro version are important.
